How it works:
The Lumecca IPL laser produces photo-thermolysis by interacting with the red and brown pigments in the skin using specific wavelengths of light. As a result, these pigments are absorbed by the light and destroyed within a few minutes. Lumecca is one of the most powerful treatments for pigmentation and redness caused by sun damage because it is highly specific and selective.
What to expect during your treatment:
After a consultation and assessment, an ultrasound gel is applied to the treated area. The pulses of light will be delivered with the help of a handpiece applied to the skin’s surface. During treatment, your eyes will be protected by goggles. A Lumecca treatment feels like a light elastic band sensation on the skin as bright light flashes are shot out from the Lumecca handpiece. It usually takes around 5-10 minutes to complete the treatment, and the skin will feel slightly sunburnt afterward.
When will I see results?
The results of the first treatment for sun damage and skin complexion can be seen a few days after the Lumecca treatment has been completed. Over time, the skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant, with the most noticeable results appearing after 1-2 weeks. The final result will be improved if you have multiple photofacial sessions. In the case of vascular treatments, such as spider veins or leg veins, results can be seen after two weeks.
How many sessions does it take to see results?
Following the first session, you will notice an improvement in the appearance of your skin. The results are even better when multiple sessions are conducted. Depending on how severe the sun damage is, between 2 and 4 sessions will be required.
