Female Hormone Imbalance- What You Should Know

From day 1, our hormones play an essential role in our health and wellbeing.  They are the chemical messengers that travel through the bloodstream and tell our tissues, cells, and organs what to do and how to function.

As we grow and age, our hormones shift and change throughout our lives, which is perfectly normal.  Our sex drive increases as puberty hits, acne breakouts happen, bloating, increased emotions, and more can occur before, during, and after our periods and during pregnancy; the list goes on. Even as we get into our senior years, we go through menopause which comes with its own list of symptoms and changes our bodies yet again.

However normal these changes may be, you also need to know what female hormone imbalance looks and feels like.  Symptoms and feelings you may think of as “normal” may actually be caused by a hormonal imbalance that is treatable! Don’t stand idly by and struggle; learn the signs and symptoms and seek treatment today!

Signs Of Female Hormone Imbalance

As we said above, you might be experiencing some of the symptoms we have listed below and just brush them off as normal or think that you have a different medical issue, but the truth is, our hormones affect EVERYTHING that happens in our body.

If you have been experiencing one or more of the symptoms below, you may indeed be dealing with female hormone imbalance.

Symptoms/Experiences

  • Irregular weight gain or loss
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle aches, pains, and stiffness
  • Increased or decreased heart rate
  • Uncontrollable or ongoing sweating/night sweats
  • Increased sensitivity to heat or cold
  • Frequent urination
  • Constipation or more frequent bowel movements
  • Increased thirst and/or hunger
  • Depression, nervousness, and/or anxiety
  • Thinning hair
  • Hot flashes
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Dry skin
  • Memory fog

You must let your healthcare professional know about any of these above symptoms you may have and ask that they test you for hormone imbalance.  Getting the proper treatment and re-aligning your body will make a world of difference!

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Even though Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is most commonly recommended for women going through menopause and experiencing negative symptoms like those listed above, it can be recommended for anyone who is experiencing female hormone imbalance.

Hormone Replacement Therapy is different for everyone because it is completely personalized to what you need to realign and re-balance your body.

We have four different types of hormones, and just one that is out of alignment can wreak havoc on our bodies.  For women, the three main types of hormones that we need to worry about being off-balance are estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone.

Depending on which hormones are high or low will determine the HRT.  HRT is designed to give you the correct type of hormones you need when you need them to create homeostasis within the body.

Once you start getting back on balance, you will begin to feel more like yourself, and your symptoms will ease up or disappear altogether.
